Residencies

The ArtLab is an experimental workspace for artists, scholars and makers. In addition to supporting Harvard students and faculty, the ArtLab hosts invites artists residencies.

By policy, ArtLab’s Invited Artists are selected by nomination only. We have no application process by which artists may apply. The ArtLab’s Advisory Committees nominate accomplished mid-career artists for our invited residency program, and Project Intensives and Faculty Fellows are selected from the pool of University-affiliated nominees.

There is two exceptions to the above policy:
• The Loeb/ ArtLab Fellowship
• Course-related project support for Harvard faculty and affiliates via this form

While we understand that this selection policy may leave many artists who wish to apply for a residency at the ArtLab somewhat disappointed, we recommend contacting the Alliance of Artist Communities to explore other opportunities for artist residencies. Harvard-affiliated artist residencies are also offered at the Office for the Arts, Hutchins Center for African & African American Research, The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asian Institute, EdPortal, Project Zero, Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

Please contact artlab@harvard.edu if you have questions.
