Liz Lerman

Liz Lerman is a choreographer, performer, writer, educator, and recipient of honors, including being selected as a 2023 Guggenheim Fellow, a 2002 MacArthur “Genius Grant,” and a 2017 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award. Throughout her career, Liz Lerman has expanded where dance lives in our society. She has cultivated generations of dance makers focused on dance as an agent for social change through community engagement.

Wicked Bodies: Open Process is a public event associated with Lerman’s 2019 residency supported by the Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA).

Messy Beginnings is a commission of the Harvard University Committee on the Arts and was made possible with the support of the Johnson-Kulukundis Family President’s Fund for Arts at Harvard University. Lerman’s 2024 residency is part of ArtsThursdays, a university-wide initiative supported by HUCA.
