Rigorous Play & Whimsical Work: a metaLAB workshop will explore the elements of whimsy and surprise in the creative process, incorporating playfulness, chance, and the value of constraints. Designed as a fast-paced, hands-on session at Harvard's ArtLab, students will explore new forms of collaboration, working with physical materials to give shape to big ideas.
This workshop is led by Sarah Newman, Director of Art & Education, Principal metaLAB at Harvard. Newman works on the social and cultural implications of new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and human-machine interactions, through creative workshops and interactive art.
Supported by the Elson Family Arts Initiative Fund this workshop has been designed for the Lemann Program on Creativity & Entrepreneurship course LPCE 101: StudioLab.
