High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America is a work in progress co-presented with the American Repertory Theater and as part of the series of ArtsThursdays, a university-wide initiative supported by the Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA).

An evening with theater choreographer Mayté Natalio, playwright Marcus Gardley, and Dayron J. Miles, Associate Artistic Director at the American Repertory Theater, after their developmental residency at ArtLab.

Dayron J. Miles is the Associate Artistic Director at American Repertory Theater, working with Terrie and Bradley Bloom, Artistic Director Paulus as a key thought partner to advance A.R.T.’s mission to expand the boundaries of theater and in creating and sustaining the vision for the A.R.T. His work centers on audience and community in all aspects of the theater and upholds A.R.T.’s values in all artistic undertakings. Miles joined A.R.T. in November 2019 as the Senior Advisor for Civic Engagement and Strategic Partnerships to co-vision with Paulus A.R.T.’s future home, Harvard’s Allston campus. Dayron J. Miles is an ArtLab Faculty in residence in 2025 and is originally from Toledo, OH.Miles was previously the Founding Director of Public Works Dallas at the Dallas Theater Center, a community engagement and participatory theater project designed to blur the line between professional artists and community members.

Mayté Natalio is a movement-based performer, choreographer, and director from NYC. She is a Broadway and television choreographer and performer. She was born from Dominican parents, and she studied at the LaGuardia H.S. for the Performing Arts and SUNY Purchase (BFA).  Mayte was honored with a 2024 Chita Rivera Award for her acclaimed work.
