Pleasure Machine with Weilu Gu

Harvard Music Department Ph.D. candidate, Weilu Ge, prototyped a new immersive media installation in the Mead Production Lab at ArtLab in the Spring of 2023. Weilu Ge is creating a responsive performance environment using projection mapping and spatialized sound to explore issues of social media exploitation in a world of surveillance capitalism. The project utilizes network sensors, gesture-controlled mobile displays, and augmented reality (AR) sculptures to encourage collaborative creativity and improvisation while giving a voice to a critical and current socio-political issue.
