This free, two-day winter session workshop connects art-making with laser cutting. Open to undergraduates enrolled in Harvard College, registration is required.

This two-day workshop connects art-making with laser cutters. The first day we will learn about a local artist, Atma Khalsa, and their practice of making using laser cutters. Then we will learn about the capabilities and operation of laser cutters. On the second day, students will work with the artist on a collaborative project in the ArtLab Workshop. This workshop is open to undergraduates enrolled at Harvard College. Attendance is required on both days, for registration information: https://wintersession.college.harvard.edu/programs

Atma Khalsa currently works as an Art Director for Lovepop Cards, a company that makes 3D pop-up cards using the laser cutter. She previously managed and taught laser cutting workshops at a local makerspace and is an active member at Artisan’s Asylum in Somerville. Her passion lies in the intersection between digital design and fabrication — and how technology has the capacity to enable creatives to reach more people and support themselves.
