ARTLAB: Renowned artist and composer, Meredith Monk, will be in residency at ArtLab this spring developing her newest evening-length performance with the working title Indra's Net.
Indra's Net will premiere in November 2020 at Mills College and will be Monk's most ambitious exploration of the interplay of music, movement, architecture, and space to date. This open rehearsal will include fragments of this early work-in-progress. Additionally, Meredith Monk will engage in dialogue about her processes for creating this new work and collaborating with a team of performers, designers, and technologists, who will join Monk in residence.
Monk's residency at ArtLab is organized in collaboration with the Harvard Department of Music and Fromm Foundation Visiting Lecturer on Music. This residency is also supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Indra’s Net was commissioned by Mills College with support from the Hewlett 50 Arts Commission.
Limited free tickets will be available here in early April.
The ArtLab is a 20-minute walk from Harvard Square, and there is metered street parking. We encourage you to use public transit via the 66 or 86 MBTA bus, and Harvard Shuttles: Barry's Corner or Allston Express. Parking at the ArtLab requires an ARTL permit from Harvard Parking.
