ARTLAB: To conclude her residency at the ArtLab, Merritt Moore will present repeating short performances of their research and development at 3:15 and 3:45 pm.

To conclude their residency at the ArtLab, artist-in-residence Merritt Moore and collaborator Alice Williamson present "Are we human, or are we dancer," short preview performances of their research and development. To accommodate audiences in the studio, there will be repeat performances at 3:15 and 3:45 pm. 

While at the ArtLab Merritt and Alice researched the connections between choreography, ballet dance, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Merritt Moore graduated from Harvard College and received a Ph.D. in Atomic and Laser Physics from the University of Oxford. She also is a professional ballet dancer with the Zurich Ballet, Boston Ballet, José Mateo Ballet Theatre, English National Ballet, and Norwegian National Ballet.

Merritt was recently awarded Forbes 30 under 30, and she was one of the 12 selected candidates to undergo rigorous astronaut selection on BBC Two "Astronauts: Do you have what it takes?" Merritt urges that the arts and sciences should not be mutually exclusive, and she inspires young women around the world to pursue their dreams. She has been invited to be the featured speaker at the Forbes Women's Summit in N.Y. A panelist for the U.S. Embassy' Women in STEM' Panel in London, and is featured in the bestseller "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, Vol 2." 
 
Merritt's collaborator, Alice Williamson, is a multidisciplinary artist and performer from London, England. During the ArtLab residency, Alice has directed creative research and visual production. Alice has performed as a professional ballet dancer working with Staatsballett Berlin, Hong Kong Ballet, and Royal Opera House, London. She is also the founder of Designed by Alice fashion for dancers.

Parking is not permitted at the ArtLab. The ArtLab is a 20-minute walk from Harvard Square and there is metered street parking. We encourage you to use public transit via the 66 or 86 MBTA bus, and Harvard Shuttles: Barry’s Corner or Allston Express
