ARTLAB: To conclude their residency, the Partnering Lab will preview Attunement: or that which cannot be measured, a two-hour durational performance /workshop, commissioned by the New Museum and developed at the ArtLab.
To conclude their residency, Ilya Vidrin, Jessie Stegall, and the Partnering Lab will preview a two-hour durational performance/workshop, commissioned by the New Museum and developed at the ArtLab.
The program begins with a performance, in which dancers wear sensors designed to track and record subtle movements. The live data is then transmitted to a musician, who responds by interpreting the sensors’ score in real-time. Dancers respond to the sound, creating a feedback loop. The performance will then transition to a workshop, inviting audience members to explore movement-based studies. Through the practice of negotiating touch, proximity, and orientation, participants will investigate the physicality of ethical concepts, including consent, willingness, resistance, receptivity, and responsiveness.
The ArtLab is a 20-minute walk from Harvard Square, and there is metered street parking. We encourage you to use public transit via the 66 or 86 MBTA bus, and Harvard Shuttles: Barry’s Corner or Allston Express. Parking at the ArtLab requires an ARTL permit from Harvard Parking.
The ArtLab is committed to accessibility for all visitors. For anyone requiring accessibility accommodations, please email email@example.com.
